Couldn't find anything in 'search' on what people have done to fix the glovebox lid that's decided not to open with one-hand operation...
mine's gone that way since my recent 3000km trip, during one hot session (sun, engine and traffic) I noticed the whole top panel was raised a fair bit, thought it expanded and was going to pop off

but it didn't... meanwhile you had to give the rear of the box a little push to get it to open when the button was pushed...
pain-in-bum.
So, reported this major issue, my only one, at yesterday's 6000km service and they said they'd fiddled with no result so a new one's on order... I can imagine when that's coming in, next week no doubt
I took the little thing apart this morning, and the only thing I could do was add extra "spring" to the lid by putting to little tabs of sticky-sided foam, probably half-inch squares stuck to the front outer sections of the lid (under it ofcourse

).
Now it pops up like an ejector seat
bit of Hi-tech trivia for those who might have a similar issue.
Meanwhile,
my dealer is quite nice.
Before they did the 6K service they rang me confirming any little scuffs or scratches already there, so they 'assured' me they won't add any more...

(middle fairing removal for air-cleaner check)
Did the job, rang me and I raced over just before a bloody huge rainstorm was about to hit.. they'd parked my newly buffed baby in their showroom for me... how nice.. so I waited out the worst of the storm (
couldn't see across the road for 10-15 minutes!!), then took 2 freeways to my doorstep instead of the wet and greasy suburban roads...
They did something right, after another ride tonight it's definitely smoother, less grumbly at startup (topend seemed to rattle for 5 seconds when started). Pity I had a dinner invite, could've ridden on through the night!
So glad I've got a dealer that appears to be doing the right thing.
