Deluxe Digital Audio System

I'm riding around with the digital audio system for almost 2 months now.
The system is based on the original Honda accessory, customized
to fit the Connie.

The location of the speakers is at handlebar height, where it does
not obstruct the view of the dash, gives the best field for sound and is far enough from the fob or any other electronic parts to have any magnetic interference.

For the sound quality, I have gone up to about 170 km/h and the music is still there but with some 'windy' interference. Sound is all clear up to about 120~130 km/h.

The most fun part of this system is, that the volume is automatically controlled/adjusted by the speed ... the faster you
ride the louder is will adjust itself so that the music will be
equally clear and loud at 10 km/h as at 100 km/h.

I hardly ever touch the control unit, but sitting at the left side it is easy to reach and control ... not that there is much to control ( one mute button and two for volume up and down )

Both parts are weatherproof, control unit and speakers won't be scared of rain or getting wet from washing.

Buy a car..................

Zumo and Autocom gives you excellent stereo music at any speed with no wind noise and a lot less butt ugly.

If you are a fan of getting hung by the wires and don't want your pillion to enjoy the music ... go ahead.

That is why I prefer this setup. There are no cables running between the bike and the helmet. The components
are small and easy to install, so no need to find a free space ( if there is any at all on the Connie ) to hide any boxes.

I use it together with the Zumo 550, just hook the speaker system directly into the Zumo cradle and the music plays.

The look and finish of the speakers don't look weird in the cockpit, it kind of complements the shape of the handlebars
and still keep a clear view of the dash.

Taste differs ... luckily there something for each of us :)

Ang,

Garmin 2820 Street Pilot
Nolan N102 Secret, modular flip front helmet
Nolan nCom bluetooth kit
Perfect Pilot left hand button set from Waypoint Notter:

Nav, MP3 and Cell sync'd wireless through helmet. Touch screen controls.
It works great. I'm also sync'd to my passenger for rider/pillion comms. My only issue is XM radio will not transmit over bluetooth. You have to be "wired" for that feature of the Garmin. I'm currently testing different bluetooth dongles to overcome that obsticle. Feel free to send PM for more details if you wish.

I envy your equipment for riding.

This is an audio system for the 1400GTR that a certain Kawasaki dealer made for trial purposes. (Photo: July, 2007)
