Truth And Lies About Testing The Bikes...

I READ some days ago a topic for a bike magazine and that GTR 1400 placed last....HA!
before 4 months there is a test ride in france for journalists from bike magazines...from greece FOUR(not 1 or 2) went...
from magazines 2 ΤΡΟΧΟΙ,0-300,ΜΟΤΟ,PQWER BIKES...
ALL of them impressed from the power,transmission,brakes,easiness in control....only disadvantage the wind protection which easily fix with a taller screen....
there is also a ride test here in greece between GTR 1400-K1200 GT-FJR 1300.....
QUESS who is the winner......GTR 1400
AND last month two journalists drove the GTR in TURKEY(ANKARA) for a coffee time!!!
3400 kms in 54 hours!!!!
SO.....
TRUST YOUR OWN INSTICT.....
ALL THESE MOTORISTS CAN'T BE WRONG!!!!

i don't care about these tests! In my opinion, the brand who pays most for advertising in the magazin is the winner. Otherwise, it is irreproducable that in some magazins the BMW wins, in others the FJR and in anothers the GTR.

I'm happy with my bikes! And it is funny to see that both won all tests in the beginning, but afterwards were only in the midd-range.

There is comparo of 5 GTs in this months very respected (and respectable) french magazine called Moto Mag. The 5 bikes are BMW R12RT, GTR, FJR, PAN (ST1300 in the US) and the Moto Guzzi Norge.

Verdict:

1st: BMW 1200RT
2nd: PAN
3rd: GTR
4th: Norge
5th: FJR

Not a fair test from the start as all bikes were stock apart from the RT that had a lot of options like Heated grips,ESA (Electronic Supension Adjustment), radio etc...)
The GTR lost most of its points on the engine side..BUT in france all bikes are restricted to about 100bhp. The french GTR has 102bhp so naturally a 300kg bike castrated to that extend doesn't demonstrate what the manufacturer actually produced. It also got trashed for its windscreen (agree with that one) and lack of heated grips. A part from that, all 5 testers were well impressed by the GTR.

Now I'm wondering how the hell they placed the FJR last and especially why after the Norge!!!!
