Got mine today...1st GTR in US ???

Finally....the local dealer only had one ABS model in stock and no non-ABS models on hand. I wanted the ABS so it worked out well. One bag has a nick on it and they are going to get me two new bags off the next bike in. Nice offer by them

They delivered it to my house at no charge...45 miles one way at 7:00 pm. Second bike I have purchased from them. Bad thing was we had to go to dinner and shopping. So I have not even rode it yet But tomorrow I am home alone so a long break-in ride is planned while wife is at work

I also have the "1400GTR" badging from Hitman ....will I have the first GTR in the states ??? Speaking of that...anyone know the best, safest way to remove the C-14 badging and install the GTR badging ?

Now to install the GPS, Radar, Comm, heated clothing leads, etc....

Thanks guys...this site rocks !

Thumbs up

Good one! I think some others ordered their GTR badges a few weeks ago, so you might not be alone
Bet you'll enjoy the first night on it!!!

I think a hairdryer to heat the badge up and wiggle it off, maybe also a thin fishing line (garrote?) to slice through the heated backing... then cleanup with prepsol...

I actually like the Concourse name... but for the price I think I'll enjoy my GTR just as much

Yeah, this site is quite OK !!

I have changed my badges and it is pretty easy. First I set a strip of masking tape along the bottom of the badge so that I could duplicate the angle and marked on there where the front and back of the badge was. I then carefully peeled the masking tape back leaving it attached to the bike. Next I warmed up the area with a hairdryer and using a tiny screwdriver I lifted up one corner of the badge enough to grab it between thumb and forefinger. Slowly peel the badge off and then clean off any adhesive residue. Flatten the masking tape back down and then decide where your new shorter badge will go. Towards the front, rear or centered on where the old badge was.

Thnaks for the tips...I'll get on it in the morning. Put on only 30 miles today due to other duties. I hope to put on a couple hundred tomorrow.

Thanks Hitman...I got around to changing badging tonight and pulling off all the warning and caution labels. I used the hairdyer to heat up all the badging and labels and they came off very easily with only a little residue left behind. I also used some dental floss to saw through the glue holding the old C-14 badges on...worked very well. I cleaned off the residue with a bit of spray-on bug and tar remove, sparringly applied. Then washed the areas well and reapplied quality wax. Sure looks better with all the warning labels off and I absolutely love the "1400GTR" badges

Don't laugh...I am seriously considering having it done. I may hold off until I can determine what color the 2009 model will be in the US. If its black in 2009 I'll be trading mine in for sure. I was tempted to get a vanity plate that read "EUROSPC" (Euro Spec), but decided on "ICBMGTR"
