Gel Seat...is it worth it?

Still undecided about getting the Kwaka gel seat or having a custom one made.
I have no real issues with the oem seat as it feels quite comfortable and is good for long trips without bum ache.
Can anyone post their impressions on the optional gel seat compared with the oem seat.

Had mine a while and done quite a few hundred miles on it now, would say it is no more comfortable than the original, and I still get a numb bum after 90 minutes in the saddle, this has a lot to do with me suffering a bad back though.

As for handling for me it has really helped with me getting my feet on the ground (29" inseam) which is good for confidence.

The seat well and truly looks the business and even if I get a custom made with my original as the donor (may do one day) I will probably keep the low seat in case I should ever sell the bike (dont panic, would only buy another)

If you wish to try it out and your ever heading upto wales give me a shout and I can surely arrange it!

Kawa had one of their two C-14s mounted up with an OEM gel seat and taller windscreen at the International Motorcycle Show in Seattle this past weekend. The substantially firmer gel seat is also cut about an inch lower than the stocker. The brief sitting was not adequate enough to develop a sense of whether it would be more comfortable over the long haul. Although I much preferred the craftsmanship and aestetics over the stock seat, I don't think the price tag warrants the trade up at this time. For that price, I'd expect it to be heated as well filled with gel.

I like my stock seat on my 10. My buddy had his recushioned. It is better for longer rides. I don't really care for the gel.

I found the Corbin Canyon seat off my zx14 will fit the Concours 14 (GTR1400) if you exchange the mounting brackets.......

Che, will the factory ZX-14 cowl still fit when you put the ZX-14 seat on the GTR? Does the cowl attach to the seat or the bike? I am considering picking up a used ZX-14 seat because I really like the look of the cowl.

The cowl fits to the seat not bike and the rack will be a problem. I removed my rack ages ago.
