Tankslapper Full Protection Kit
Okay,
Received my full protection kit from Tankslapper ($52.00), and got around to the install yesterday/today. Did the cases first as they were inside the house. They had to have been the easiest at about half an hour for both. You simply cannot see the film unless you are looking at the edge at just the right angle.
Put the bike in the barn to install the rest of the kit. (This is easiest if you have the kids pick up the dog crap FIRST, so you dont run over a pile and have to smell it for the next three hours...) I read everything before beginning, and laid the pieces out so I could inventory. The only discrepancy was that the fender "nose" piece is two pieces as opposed to the one shown on the website.
The only parts I had ANY trouble with were the headlights, and I would recommend you do them last so you can get more familiar with the film. I (wanting to get the obvious hard part out of the way) did them first. I ended up with a couple of bubbles, but am satisfied. Get used to stretching the film to help it fit.
Everything else was just too easy. I had to remove the middle tank section and reposition it, but as advertised it went right back on. The directions advise using the supplied baby shampoo on the bigger pieces, but I had no trouble at all with the alcohol/water mix. I took pics to post, but after reviewing them decided not to as the film is almost impossible to see.
Bottom line is that if I had any other bikes I would protect them with this as well. Also, I believe that I now have something on my bike that Jammin doesnt have on his so it was just that much more fun.
