I'm not surprised. When I asked ANPAC why they beat Allstate and GEICO so bad they said it was because they didn't play ball in certain states (ie California, Florida). The risks there are infintely higher I assume.

BTW - I got my policy detail the other day. It's full coverage, comp, collision, and liability with 50/100 limits and a $500 deduct. $204 per year. Some have chided me for going only 50/100K on coverage. I carry 100/300 on a 7000 lb truck. But I have trouble seeing how a 700 lb bike will create that much damage. If it did...then the damages would likely be waaaay more than 300,000 and it would result in a lawsuit anyway where NO amount of coverage would suffice.

Actually ... I just looked at my policy card. It's 100,000/300,000 too.

UK Insurance

I spend quite a bit of my time in the 'States and the way insurance and liability work is radically different to what we are used to in the UK.

If you get fully comprehensive insurance - that's it. You don't have to worry about how much liability etc. The insurance covers it.

I guess that's why our insurance premiums are a bit different in the UK:
I've just renewed mine for, what I thought was an amazingly cheap £217 full comp with a £250 excess. Plus I have 6 points on my license. What annoyed me is my normal broker offered to cover me for £469 which is outrageous especially when you learn that it is the same underwriter for all GTRs at the moment: Equity Red Star.

bowen

Is that for a one year or 6 month premium?

That's about $430 USD...and for a year that is good! I'm paying about $450 now annually for full coverage on mine which is about as cheap as I could find here in the states.

For a 12 month 2 bike policy with e-bike.com I am paying £241.00

The policy is fully comprehensive for the 07 GTR and my 04 FJR and includes legal cover
plus UK and Europe breakdown cover.

Its a real big benefit living in a very low crime area :-)

Like Bagman, its an annual premium and it does include breakdown and legal cover.
Not multibike, though; this year I've insured my KTM separately.
