Good Luck drsmig. I think the dealers on Seattle are still selling at MSRP if you can even find one.

ang,
Good luck on your search. Some things you might consider. (food for thought from recent experience, as it were) I noticed you were posting from Canada so please disregard if any of these thoughts are not applicable.
1) Strength of CDN$ against the green back puts you at around 11,750CAD for that 13,000 USD bike.
2) NW - Specifically Seattle area (some of the dealers have arrangements with Kawasaki such that they will "NOT", knowingly, sell US Kawasaki product to a Canuck.
3) NW - Seattle area - I purchased mine not that long ago (Not in the NW) and (at the time) the Seattle area dealer wanted (and was getting full US MSRP) So any opportunity to negotiate was removed. ($13,799 was what I was quoted for the ABS version if I remember correctly)
4) Consider buying somewhere further south (or east) and factoring in a nice long cross country ride into your purchase. I realize the ambient temps are starting to get a little coolish but with the proper preperation I am sure this obstacle could be overcome. I did , took my time and had a some fun on the journey back over 3 days. Good way to break in the bike as well since the 4,000RPM limit is easy to stay under while on the highways. (you can expect upwards of 85MPH (indicated) at slightly less than 4000 rpm. Translates to a respectable 136 +/- KMH.
If it works for you I am aware of a good dealer in the NE USA that will sell you one of these for $12,900 USD (NEW). let me know and I will broker an introduction. That may be a little far of a cross country but thought I would put it out there for you to consider. Independance disclaimer - No I have no affiliation with said dealer other than I take mine there for service and they made me feel good by brining it to my attention that I overpaid (albeit slightly) for mine. :( My response was to tell them "to go ahead and install that Throttlemeister and purchase a few other accessories. It seems that to cure my sadness at having overpaid I needed to pamper my C14. It worked. Oh well such is life.
Hope this helps you with your decision.

RJD, thanks for the advice. I bought a C14 ABS from a dealer in Oregon at close to my price. I pick up the bike on monday. With the exchange rate being what it is it really was a good deal.

Heading down on monday to pick it up, will be hauling it home on a rented uhaul trailer. Just trying to figure out how to tie the bike down. Have been informed about the canyon dancers that attach to the bars, but am somewhat concerned about putting too much pressure where it should not be. Will be taking lots of straps and old t shirts for protection and will take my time.
Very excited!

ang, what was your out the door price?
I paid 14 for non-abs including TTL and thought I got a pretty decent deal. Tax here is around 8%.

Just rolled in the door after unloading the new bike and putting it in the garage. I paid 13300 for the ABS, but because of the strength of the Can. dollar it came in at my target price. I bought from Factory Motor Sports in Oregon City. Now out to the garage!

I just picked mine up from Can-Do Powersports of Hazleton PA for $12199 plus $72. No taxes for out of State buyers. This is brand new and ABS.
Great deal and they have another on the floor waiting for some lucky person to buy it.
For anyone who noticed it and sent me an email I was the guy who bought it on E-bay on October 30.

Hey Chromedome, I was born and raised in Cambridge. I am now just a bit East of you in Georgetown Ontario. We should get a bunch of local Connie owners together for a ride in the spring.

Hey all, I'm new to this forum and thought I'd throw in my 2 cents.
I've actually owned 2 different ABS models. The first was purchased on ebay in August when ABS models were about as hard to find around here as cellulite on a cheerleader. Got it for $400 under list, flew to and rode it back from Little Falls Minnesota to Houston. I put almost 10k miles on it then in November I kinda crashed it (totaled) and got a new one here in Houston a couple of weeks ago for just under $14,000 out the door. That's a pretty good deal around here.
