Bike to Bike Intercom?

Hey Everyone,
Does anyone know of a good headset for bike to bike communication? I have tried the Motorola radios with throat mikes, but am not happy with them. Dont need a lot of extras either, or wil lhave to get the kids to give me a class on it. Thanks.

I have Autocom Active Plus -set.

Autocom unit starts as an expandable rider system, which includes the main unit, riders headset, riders
extension lead for bike powered systems, standard phone lead, standard music lead and a basic bike fitting kit.You then have the option to
connect a wide variety of devices: phone, MP3-palyer, bike to bike and passenger, GPS, radar. etc. For bike to bike transmission I have ALAN451R PMR-phones. VOX is working fine.

We (me and my wife) have SHOEI Multitech -helmets, which have factory made places for headsets.

With this equipment communication works with speed up to 140 km/h.

I agree with the comments on the Autocom system. Very expandable. However radios can be problematic so go for the most expensive you can afford. Icom units are good as are Kenwood. Something with a decent squelch circuit or you will be listening to every taxicab within miles.

I'm using the HJC GMRS X1 Bluetooth. I keep the unit tucked in the inner jacket pocket. I too, do not like hunks of equipment hanging off my helmet.

Yeppers,,, I looked at those as well but I wanted more than one ear-piece. The Nolan setup is full stereo but the speakers lack the bass I'm looking for.

I use a Autocom Pro-Duo. On a recent ride to Devon i took the bike upto 115mph and could still talk to the misses, allthough we did have to shout.

I agree, Autocom has a great range of products and reception is second to none. However I want to get away from all those wires and extra boxes. Bluetooth, or something very similar, must surely be the way of the future. Especially if it incorporates bike to bike comms at distances somewhere over 100mtrs as well as rider to pillion intercom. Surely in this day and age someone can produce a wireless intercom system with ranges in access of 100mtrs for bike to bike and suitable for gps and pillion conversation at speeds over 75mph. The problem seems to be that motr of the bluetooth manufactures and developers can't keep their products up to pace with our needs.
