Are we talking about two different things? Actual top speed vs dyno speed? Because the only real top speed I've seen was 160 from CW.
"BIKE" is a british motorcycle magazine. They quoted 160 with the bags on and estimated 170-175 with the bags off.

170? Sweeeeeeeeet!. I figured the bike would do that much. I can bury the needle on my ZRX1200 (indicated 170 mph) and it is only making 125 at the rear wheel and has no fairings.

Pulled a flat 155 mph without bags and the screen down. Bike was running into a slight headwind, appx., elevation 3700 feet, air temp 75 degrees F. Motor had a little left to give but traffic and highway conditions negated a longer run. Had absolutely no wobble issues-solid as a rock. I'm a little on the heavy (240) lbs., so a smaller rider will run out more. Definitely not a ZX-14 but where the power counts the bike does a super job.

I did 150mph indicated and it felt like it had a lot more in it to go; ran out of road. It did not take that long (in time)to get there.

Stumbled across this old thread from a couple years back.

I rode my C14 to west Texas with a buddy from Houston on his Busa. We did a little top end horsing around south of Marfa. My Connie is not stock. It has dual exhaust with no CATS and a Power Commander. It rang up 149 hp SAE on a DJ250i.

Anywhooooo...in 5th WFO the OEM speedo indicated a tick under 170. My GPS said 162 and that's all she'd do. Not bad for a bagger ( yes I had the bags on). It might do more with the bags off...but honestly I'm not inclined to find out.

Here's the sick part...when my C14 was indicating 170 on the speedo my buddies Busa was literally walking away. If I was doing 162 gps he hadda be doin' at least 170 or 175.

The top speed is reached in 5th? Or is better to shift 6th and "wait".

Hi speedfreak, Mine 08 model. Fabricate my own exhaust system, remove CATS, K&N filter. on 5th gear shows 280kph. Just keep my 6th gear in my pocket. Good enough. Fuhhh
