Kaoko Manual Cruise Control
Hi, I have just purchased a 2009 GTR1400 and am new to the forum.
I have searched some of the Cruise control threads but did not come up with Kaoko.
I was wondering if anyone had tried a Kaoko throttle control either on a GTR or other bike? http://www.sportouring.com/gallery.p...angeChoosen=17
I want some sort of cruise control capability just to give my hand a rest on long sections.
Thanks,
Don1

Simon, I will proberbly invest in one - I will post as soon as I have fitted. The M4 is a pain down to London - one of these may come in usefull.
Not sure about other mods...may change the bike next year for a VFR1200 or a 2010 GTR.
Depends if SWS are good to me again...

Hey riders, there may be something wrong with me, but I cannot understand why anyone would want cruise control on a high performance motorcyle or car. Microseconds of response time can determine your life span at high speeds on a very sensitve performance machine.
I detest that feeling of the machine accelerating on it's own going up an incline or anything I don't control directly with miniscule adjustments from my own hands.
What, - ? are you so weak and / or lazy you need some assistance maintaining speed for long durations. I think cruise control concept is very wierd, and just another aftermarket product the vendors push at your expense.
But hey, I'm only 65yrs old and may need some more experience.

Lol , dude you are a moron, first and for most, a cruise control WON'T accelerate with out human input , but will go one better on an incline by maintaining the set speed up or down with out the rider having to do any thing, not the type mentioned here though, what we are talking about is a throttle aid.
1St, the type of control we are talking about here has no input to engine management and just holds the throttle open in a position chosen by the rider and releases with any input of the throttle.
2Nd, you say you are 65? but why do you insult like a 12 year old girl..... Mmmm, might be that's because you are 12. if you are so insecure as to worry about the small things in life like this then you need to go and find a hobby more suitable to a 12 year old.

Junglejohn, for 65 you should have aquired more manners. If I wanted a lecture on what to have for breakfast or if I should go out in the rain because that tyre might loose traction I would have asked. I was actually asking for feedback on a specific product - not your views on my comptency to decide my own actions. I have rode all sorts of bikes for 25 years day in day out so I have already formed my own opinions regarding the safety of such a throttle lock device. If you have never tried one of these then you have no reason to post here because it is not relevent to my question. I will however accept your posted appology...

Kaoko "throttle lock"
Hi Guys,
Have recently joined the GTR 1400 club having purchased a 2009 at run out special.
Have fitted the Kaoko throttle lock and love it!
Easy to fit and you adapt to the userability of it feelly quickly.
Would suggest you lubricate with petroleum jelly before installing as this frees up the nut a little more and makes for much easier use.
We have great motorways and long highways which loan themselves to removing your right hand to stretch those tired mussels.
Ordered mine from an American site called "TwistedThrottle.com" The unit was well priced and the delivery was in four days from order placement. That's fantastic from America to Australia. A very happy little camper!
Regards,
Bruce

Throttle Lock
Hi Don,
The short answer is no. But the "Twisted Throttle.com" site clearly shows same, just not fitted. I'll try and post same for you in next few days. I'm no technicrat when it come to computers but will try for you.
The actual size is a match for the balancer that it replaces on the right hand side.
I've already tried to attach their photo without success!
Regards,
Bruce

I put one on my St1300 and liked it som much better I added one to my ZX14 as welll.
The thumb wheel makes it way easier to use then the other brand,
well worth the bucks if you are riding farther than the 7-11 down the street

I had the Throttlemeister fitted to my ST13 (same principle) and it worked OK.
Have just ordered an Audiovox CCS for the GTR - whenit's fitted will see what it's like?!!?
