Buzzing/Vibration on the right hand side handlebar

Hi Everyone. I am a Newbie to this Forum.

I bought my new 1400 GTR three weeks ago - and it's fabulous.....except I have this annoying "buzzing" on the handlebar - but only on the right hand side. This is happening at about 3,500 to 4,000 rpm and makes my thumb and first two fingers numb after 60km or so. No my gloves are not too small!!!!

I have about 500Km still to go until the first service so I have not spoken to the dealer about the vibration yet.

Has anyone else experienced this? If yes, what was your problem?

Thanks for any input and suggestions.

Hi

I am so glad to see your post as I thought I had a problem with my right hand ciculation. Yes my right hand goes numb and I have to bang it against my leg to get rid of the pins and needles. Never an issue with the left hand. My logic was that you always have a grip on the throttle but not so on the LHS so right hand more likely to feel the vibes. Also the RH grip is thinner than the LH grip so more vibes can get through. I now have gel grips with foam on top of that and hand still goes numb. Worse at low speed as more weight is on the hands. Just ordered bar risers.

Thanks Big Kev !!

I also thought I had circulation problems or Carpal Tunnel Syndrome !!

I found Cramp Buster - a device to control throttle more with the heel of your hand than the fingers on the grip. Their website is www.crampbuster.com

Has anyone tried something like this?

I am a happy user of the CRAMPBUSTER, They are an inexpensive, simple gadget that works as advertised.. Also, in response to the same complaint I made an angled shim that became known as "Phils wedges", they go between the top-clamp and the stanchion base and change the bars to a more horizontal position. Several guys reported help with the right hand numbness.

I have the same idea with you. Great! Thanks for sharing.
Glad to hear you're using this: I plan to keep it much more aggressively up-to-date than has been the case in the past, but don't hesitate to let me know if you find errors or need clarifications.

Glad too see it was not only me getting pins and needles in the right hand. Was getting worried!

will keep an eye out for this problem, but spend up to 10 hours a day in the saddle and no complaints so far, apart from the clutch howling on take off.

I use a cramp buster on my 10. Helps a lot. Just be careful and take time to get used to it. Seen a friend do some improvised stunting bcuz he wasN't used to it. Looked like a bucking horse until he spilled it sideways. Funny in a sad way.

Anyways, just a heads up on the crampbuster.
