Newbie, presenting myself. From Portugal

Hello all,

I'm a newbie here on the GTR 1400 forum.
My name is Marco and I live in Faro-Portugal, -home of the anual
International Motorcycle Meeting- (Some of you might know it...)

After a Jawa250 (customized), a Kawasaki VN750 and a few years without my own bike (new home...kids) I could not stand it anymore...

We allready had thoughts about a touring bike, litle vibration, smooth
but fast riding when needed, confort (my wife used to blame the VN bad, after a riding day). I was never a R/RR skillfull kid and i'm not on my 20's or 30's, so...

The contenders: GT, STX, FJR, GTR...
After reading around the forums, magazine comparatives and just plain bikers cafe chat, went for some riding test on the FJR first. And there's nothing like testing and riding a bike before you make a decision! The GTR felt like "have I been riding this bike for a month allready?"
The easy way it curves is amazing, the engine great...It realy fit "like a glove" and... it's beautifull.

I Have my GTR for nearly a month now, cloked 1400km and I'm a happy man.

All the best to you all, boas curvas.
Um cumprimento particular ao Pedro Gordo.

Marco

Hi

You're very welcome, Marco! We have here at least 4 portuguese GTR's owners. Me (Leiria), you (Faro), Satan (Coimbra) and Rui Loureiro (Porto).

I see you had just 2 bikes! I have a friend who bought a GTR 1400 has a first bike!!! But he started slowly and gentle. Now, he's ok and more confortable with the power and height of the bike.

Maybe we can mett each other sometime...

Regards,

Absolutly! If not before, maybe July2010 on the Faro meeting, if you like the meeting itself.

Abraço

Being a TX transplant, I can assure you, they don't talk English in TX. Congrats. on the bike, take the corners easy untill you change tires....

Did a little travelling in Portugal, beautiful scenery and i especially loved the cork trees.
