No you don't have to remove the fairing. In fact changing the oil and filter is very easy on this bike. Center stand is required.

did this the 1st time, no need to remove anything, why did it take so long for the engineers to make it easy to change the oil & filter

gotta wonder ???

my last bike (2004 Honda VFR800 ABS/VTEC) was alot harder to do an oil change
(had to split the lower fairing, oil got everywhere, had to clean everything before buttoning up)

the Connie takes 1/3 the time to do an oil change.

the shop I used to use charged $90 for an AmsOil oil change, labor, filter, chain adjust, ect... (on the VFR)

I took the Connie in to them (didn't bother asking for a quote)
had them change the oil with Amsoil
(no chain to adjust)
and they charged me $160

I was like WTF !!!!!
it's less than half the work than my old bike,
and you're charging me more than 50% more

the answer was "that's how long it took the tech"

my answer was,
"you guys have treated me well in the past, but I can nolonger afford to have maintenance done by your shop"

didn't realize exactly how easy this bike is til the next oil change (2 months later)
when I did it with the help of my roommate (it took us less than 15 min)
