ABS Brakes

How do I know if the ABS are working. I have braked hard on a number of occasions due to dogs etc working out in front of me and didn't get the response that i was expecting from the ABS. Sure the bike stopped in good time but i was expecting to feel the ABS judder. Now could the lack of judder be down to my braking techniques or is it a case that the ABS does not judder?

You'll feel it in the rear on slippy surfaces like wet roads when braking hard, if you feel it up front you're milliseconds from faceplanting...

You will know when it cuts in, have had it once when a flock of sheep ran out in front of me , came to a juddering stop surrounded by them, but never hit one. I reckon without it the panic handfull would have locked the front and me and a few sheep would have had sore bits, so it works in my opinion. There is no doubt in controlled situations some people could stop quicker without it but in a sudden panic like that most would benefit from ABS.

stand on the rear brake (from like 20-30mph)
make sure you have room to control it,

then do it with the front

you'll know when she kick's in
