Clutch Lever Catching

Hi Has anybody had the same thing happen to them. My bike is an 08 GTR 1400 with 1003 miles on the clock. Since I bought the bike I have felt the clutch lever jam slightly halfway though pulling the lever, and when I let the clutch in, I feel that the clutch will engage a second after releasing the lever. Thanks Ken.

Sounds similar to the normal sensation that you get when the slipper clutch kicks in Ken. The slipper clutch is like ABS for the gearbox. Sometimes you will feel the lever kick or pulse on changing up or down as the clutch adjusts to engine speed to smooth out the shaft take up and stop the rear locking. Your symptoms seem a little too severe though for that.
There is no clutch adjustments available, only if the clutch is dismantled but I wouldn't have thought that is the problem here after only 1000 miles. Don't recall anyone else with a similar issue. Talk to your dealer, who may well not know the cause but should be able to get more info from Kawasaki for you.

Hi Chris. Thank you for your advice. I will have a word with the dealer, its the first time I have had this on any bike I have owned for thirty or more years. Thanks again. Ken.

Connie has a hydraulic clutch, no cable. It is the slipper clutch. I had to get used to that little catch feeling as well. This is my first hydraulic and slipper clutch.
