A day at the Drag Strip with the Connie

I made my 3 passes at 2:45pm, 4:22pm, and 5:07pm


first time EVAR at the drag strip (or ever "launching") with a Motorcycle (for both of us)

my runs were: (2008 Concours 1400 vs 2007 ZX14)
11.911@121.38 (on a 2.287 60') 13.505@102.70 (on a 2.456)
11.908@121.32 (on a 2.317 60') 12.253@128.41 (on a 2.368)
11.929@120.35 (on a 2.177 60') 13.376@126.82 (on a 2.555)

and outran a ZX14 each time


not too bad for just under 1,000lb bike/rider combo:ninja:

Looks like fun.
What happened to the guy on the 14? He bogged it off the line and it never got the front wheel off the ground in 1st. I assume it was all stock, no lowering links, etc.

my connie is all stock
well, except for the heli bar risers and custom seat

the ZX has a full Yoshi exhaust, PCiii, air filter.. tuned to about 185 or 190 rwhp (I think)
and also has full GP suspension (Definately not setup for drag)
as well,
it was the first time out for both of us.

and that ZX is definately an "arm stretcher"
it's gonna take a little more practace to get the potential out of that bike.

Dragracing a C-14 is like putting the Queen Mary in the America's Cup; fun, entertaining, but fairly ridiculous.
P.S. Were the bags loaded with a weeks worth of gear and clothes?

I dunno,
it outran several other bikes there that day
and was lots of fun

as for the bags,
there weren't 2 weeks worth of crap in them,
but they were over half packed (jackets, sweatshirts, gloves, water bottles, ect...)
probably 20lbs each


maybe next time,
I'll run with the top box on too ;)
