Concours 14 Fender Extender Pictures Now Up !!
Hi guys, I have developed a fender extender for the Concours to solve the radiator damage problem from a short stock fender. A sport touring bike needs better fender coverage. Especially where the fender is so short the radiator sits behind an exposed tire.
I developed one for my own bike, ST1300 and my buddy liked it and wanted one for his Connie.
So for the past few weeks I have had my buddies bike in the garage for fitting.
I mold the extender out of black textured one side 1/8" thick ABS plastic.
I made it closely fit the shape of the Connie fender and long enough to stop all the mud and road debris from spraying into the radiator and also into the lower cowl area where the pipes and oil filter are.
The black color blends in well with the color scheme of the Concours.
It is best installed by gluing it to the fender with ABS glue since the stock fender is also ABS plastic.
The price for these fender extenders is, $40 US which will include mailing to your address.
PM me if you would like to order one and I can give you paypal info and get your address.
These have proven to be popular on another Kawasaki forum and feedback has been very positive.
Larry
Hope these pictures show up !

Hey Blue
Just wanted to let you know I received the extender and got it installed and it looks and performs great!!!! It was easy to install once I figured out the secret of the little plastic hose clamp thingys. Thanks for a great product. Guess I will sell the short one I bought from Murphs and never installed.

Looks great! Those little plastic hose clamps, though, are a pain! I didn't really have a good way to clamp the extender to the fender without causing damage, so I just clamped it with my fingers for about 10 minutes. The extender looks like it came with the bike as a opposed to an aftermarket item. Fantastic job and thank you, Blue!

Thats the one, thanks for posting them.
In case anyone is wondering, I also do one for the ST1300 have sold a large number over on ST-Owners.com
Lots of happy customers there too.
I have also sent extenders to Germany ,Austrailia, Belgium and soon Greece.
I mold these at home in my garage, I built my own vacuum molding table -machine and do the forming molds by hand.
I started out just wanting a better fender extender for my own bike and went from there. Sharing what I was doing on the forum I frequent led to other guys wanting one then another and so on
Thanks, Larry.

A couple Connie extenders will be off to Austrailia soon.

I don't believe you will see any difference in operating temperature. the fender extender will not block airflow. The fairing is still much wider than the fender and front wheel and will direct air in through the rad.
The total cost to South Africa would be $58 US that will include airmail shipping.
Let me know if you would like to order.

Orders going out !
9 Fender extenders molded tonight, packaged and ready to go out in tomorrows mail.
One is going to Australia and one to Ireland. All others around the US.
I'll mold some more tomorrow and this weekend for the Concours and the ZX 14 too. Also for the ST1300 Honda if you know anyone with one of those.
Anyone who would like to order, get in touch and get them while they are warm and fresh
Larry.

Well, I had a busy afternoon, I molded 24 fender extenders. 12 for the Concours and 12 for the ST1300 Honda.
One Concours and a few Honda ones are sold.
The local Honda dealer has caught wind of my fender extenders and wants to carry them in the accessory dept.
So on Monday I'll make my first delivery to the dealer.
All that remains now is for anyone who wants one to place their order
Larry.

My arrived last Monday..only a weel after placing the order
REALLY happy with it,even came with instructions on how to remove fender
I used Tec 7 compound to stick it on.
The extender is really well made, nice and big and goes right down the back of the wheel.Well worth it
