Butterflies removed

Today I removed my secondary butterflies
I took some pictures if someone is interested.
The procedure is easy and everyone who is not an absolute beginner i mechanics or driving a motorcycle should do it.
According to bench tests this will increse hp from 134 to 151 on rear wheel.

Affect on fuel efficiency?

Does removing the butterflies affect fuel efficiency? I currently get anywhere from 36 to 44 miles per U.S. gallon, depending on speed and how "sporting" I ride. Does anyone have some before and after figures for comparison?

I've had my flies out now for just over a month and I'm actually seeing an increase in my mileage. I was averaging 36-38 before removal and now I'm averaging 39. Small increase but how often do you get an increase in fuel economy with a performance increase?

I don't think you guys have the secondary flies in your bikes but I'm not totally sure. I'm headed to Kawi tomorrow and I'll check it out for you.

Are you using the power commander when you remove the flies? I believe there is a lean condition around 3,000 rpm. That would be the reason someone might see an increase in mpg.

Yes you need to run a power commander with correct map to get rid of the lean spot. OR fit a TRE and you don't have to remove the flies or fit power commander. The TRE fools the bike into thinking it's in top gear all the time and opens up everything in every gear.

Tre

What is this(,TRE )I have read on here that you do not need the PC III. When removing the Flies, and adding a slip-on Exhaust, and aftermarket air filter.
Is this not correct.
Any info would be great.
