Hi Buffgunner,

You look really comfy on the bike.

What is your inside leg measurement in inches?......... if that isn't too personal question

We have the choice of Black or Silver in the UK. They both come with ABS as standard. I chose Silver and pick it up mid-August.

My inseam is 32. I can't quite get my feet flat - primarily because the seat isn't that narrow at the front. I doesn't seem to be an issue as the bike isn't really topheavy (unlike tjhe K1200LT I was riding through Wyoming last month).

Long time BMW owner and new member here. First, I like the enthusiasm for Kawasaki's latest creation on this board. Test rode two weeks ago and knew it was the bike for me. You should all be proud. This is the bike that BMW couldn't make and yet it's still so distinctly Kawasaki. I pick my GTR up in the morning (I like the GTR moniker better).

Price in Japan
________________________________________

“Views” exceeded 10,000 times!
I describe the price of the 1400GTR in Japan in memory of “over 10,000”.
________________________________________

Model Name: 1400GTR (2008 model year)
Marketing Code: ZG1400A8F
Reference Retail Price of “Bright”: ¥1,520,000 (ECT), ¥1,596,000 (ICT)
☆ECT: Excluding Consumption Tax, ICT: Including Consumption Tax
________________________________________

The market price of the 1400GTR is different according to the Kawasaki licensed dealer.
The price of the 1400GTR that I researched is as follows.

1400GTR (Malaysian model 2008): about ¥1,330,000 ~ 1,520,000 (ECT)
⇒ US$: about 11,000 ~ 12,500 (Rate 07-23-2007, 10:00 JST)

If “KMJ” sells the Japanese model 1400GTR in Japan, the price will probably become cheaper.
For instance, if the 1400GTR (JP) is sold at 10% discount of the import price, it becomes 1,368,000 yen.

I expected the price of the 1400GTR (JP) as follows.

Wishful Price: ¥1,300,000 (ECT)
Expected retail price: ¥1,330,000 ~ 1,370,000 (ECT)
My expectations come true!?

I’m looking forward to The 40th Tokyo Motor Show 2007. (Oct 21 ~ Nov 11, 2007)

Arrival of 1400GTR

“Kawasaki Licensed dealer” announced that the 1400GTR arrived.

It might be the first 1400GTR (Malaysian model) in Japan.
It seems to be displayed in the shop.

Arrival of 1400GTR

It came back to Kobe through the lengthy voyage.

I think that the 1400GTR matches Ashiya City.

If it were my motorcycle, I would have been pleased more.

All Kawasaki export motorcycles lead to Kobe.

Talking New Owner!

I saw the bike on the showroom floor and immediately bought it this morning, waited a couple of hours for PDI and other prep stuff. I left my car at the shop and rode the bike home! I'll go get the car tomorrow
Not sure what most have paid for one but mine was $12900 out the door.
Now, can someone source me a pair of "GTR1400" emblems? The Concourse14 is coming off
I've already put 300 miles today. Great riding Kawi

I think that the 1400GTR is “cool” even if there are no panniers.

The designers of Kawasaki might receive the Good Design Award.

Corporate Collaboration

“Kawasaki T-shirt” was sold all at once in spring.
It is resold now because it was popular.

The ZX14 was displayed in UNIQLO of New York.

T-shirt (Kawasaki ZZR1400): ¥1,500

It says in the motorcycle magazine that the colors of the ZZR1400 (2008)
will become red, navy blue, and black.

I hope UNIQLO sells T-shirt of the 1400GTR.

Tire Pressure Sensors

________________________________________

Tyre Air Pressure Sensors System
*To warn riders of any tyre pressure irregularities, tyre pressure sensors are fitted as
standard equipment (a first for a motorcycle).
*The system allows the rider to monitor tyre pressure while underway. When tyre pressure
falls below 220 kPa, a low pressure warning is displayed. The ability to take into account
temperature changes and display values recalculated for 20°C helps prevent false
warnings when air expands as the tyres warm up.

“Tyre Air Pressure Sensors System”, “2008 MODEL INFORMATION” (pdf-p15) Version: 7 Jun 2007

Probably, this is the same “TPS” that the 1400GTR is mounted on the rim.

Tire Pressure Monitoring System //JAPANESE//: http://blog.livedoor.jp/speedstar_ev.../50303909.html
Tire Watch //JAPANESE//: http://www5c.biglobe.ne.jp/~inabatch/tw.html

Tire Watch LDL Technology//FRENCH//: http://ldl.technology.free.fr/site/?page=tire-watch

If it is the same “TPMS”, I want the 1400GTR to add the function of Tire Temperature Sensors.

Catalog

The catalog of the 1400GTR can be downloaded from “Bright”.

1400GTR/ Catalog//Japanese//: http://www.bright.ne.jp/lineup/1400g...tr_catalog.pdf

It explains a new system in the conceptual diagram of the GTR’s internal-combustion engine. (PDF-p.3)

☆Key Word: ECU, VVT (=可変バルブタイミング), Ultra-fine atomising injectors (=高微粒化インジェクター), Air (=空気),
The second air valve (=二次エア弁), Honeycomb catalyser (=ハニカム触媒), Emissions (=排出ガス).

Though it is not described in this catalog, the developer says in the motorcycle magazine that the VVT unit of the 1400GTR is only about 1kg.
If the VVT unit is that light, I hope that the ZZR1400 (2008 model year) will be equipped with it.

Bright New Release

“Bright” announced sales of the Z1000 and the Versys in addition to the 1400GTR.

Information of 2008 model year (08-10-2007)
1400GTR: ZG1400A8F (August 1) Neutron Silver
Z1000: ZR1000B8F (September) color×3
Versys: KLE650A8F (September) color×2

The above information of “Bright” disappeared from the Web site, though the reason was not understood.

Does not “Bright” put the ZZR1400 on the market in September?
Though I’m looking forward to seeing a red ZZR1400 (2008)・・・・・・・・・・.

Z1000 (Green): http://www.bright.ne.jp/08new/08ZR10...ALIMDRF00D.jpg
Versys (Blue): http://www.bright.ne.jp/08new/08KLE6...ABLUDRF00D.jpg

The above-mentioned photographs also disappeared.

Blue of the Versys is also very beautiful.
