Thanks for sharing. I'm still looking at the GIVI E52 top case though because I can also add the luggage rack, padded back rest and brakelight kit to the case as well. I might be interested in the "comfy" seat option though. :)

Newbie finds home on the web!
Hey All,
I think I have read every one of everybody's posts on this site. I am one of those who has never been more excited about a bike. Been riding sport-tourers since 1986 (CB750-F, XJ900RK Seca, '05 Connie) and have never wished for any other type of ride. I ordered my C14 last Tuesday for September delivery, and simply cannot sleep nights now.
I want everyone to know that this is my new home on the web. I have registered on lots of bike sites, but this is the one to rule them all. I am off to San Diego for the next two weeks, but am looking forward to popping in while there, and moving back in here when I return. Connie-on!!

I took delivery of an ABS Concours 14 the day before yesterday. Coming off both a Hayabusa and an 03 FJR1300, I can say that it is a better bike than either. Not as fast as the busa, but way faster than the FJR. Outhandles either of them. The brakes are ferocious. Wind management is much better than the FJR, and more comfortable to boot. If you duck down behind the shield in its highest position, everything goes dead calm like on the 'busa. Very llittle buffetiing with the shield in the lowest position. Seat height is functionally higher than the specs suggest, because the wide, very comfortable seat is harder to straddle at a stop than the relatively narrow seat on the FJR. I did the hard load break in, (2nd 3rd and 4th gear full throttle runs from 20 to 65 ,about 10 runs each) and it came up in 2nd every time without clutching or exceeding 5000 of the 10500 redline.
Wonderful bike.

Abolition of Max Power Restriction
Because “JAMA” had independently restricted the max power of the motorcycles,
the Japan motorcycle manufacturers (=JMM) limited the max power of the motorcycles.
“JMM” did not sell the motorcycles of the full power model in Japan.
If it wanted to buy the full power model, it was necessary to buy the imported motorcycles.
In other words, the buyer of Japanese make full power model was buying the motorcycles of the export model.
A meaningless restriction continues for about 17 years, and the sales quantity of Japanese make motorcycles has decreased.
“JAMA” abolished the max power restriction of the motorcycles because “Motorization” of Japan was mature.
“JMM” came to be able to sell the motorcycles of the full power model in Japan.
The 1400GTR that is due to arrive in August is the import model (Malaysian model).
I think that there is a possibility that “KMJ” sells the GTR in Japan in the future.
If “KMJ” sells the export model in Japan, it will save a lot of time and money.
I hope that “KMJ” will sell the GTR of the Japanese model in Japan in the near future.
Please ・・・・・・・・・・, ・・・・・・・・・・ for the global environment.
A lot of middle-aged riders ・・・・・・・・・・ the Japanese model 1400GTR (2008).
The dream came true!?

my understanding is it will be called the 1400GTR, not GTR1400.

Correct
You are correct. But...the nearest we can get in licence tags is GTR14..

Restriction related to motorcycle
“MLIT” will apply the restriction of the exhaust fumes and the noise to the imported motorcycles.
☆MLIT: Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport Japan
(1)10-01-2007: Exhaust fumes restriction ⇒ Japanese model
(2)01-01-2007: Noise restriction ⇒ Japanese model
(3)09-01-2008: Exhaust fumes restriction ⇒ Imported model
(4)12-01-2009: Noise restriction ⇒ Imported model
The 1400GTR can be obtained on August 31, 2008. It doesn't understand afterwards.
If the GTR of the Japanese model come up to the standard of the exhaust fumes,
I think “KMJ” will sell the GTR in Japan in the near future.
It’s only my wishful thinking.
After “Top Stage Fair”, ・・・・・・・・・・ the Japanese model 1400GTR (2008 or 2009).
Tokyo Motor Show will be held ・・・・・・・・・・. ・・・・・・・・・・ Japanese new model.
GTR , HAYABUSA, VMAX, VFR, ・・・・・・・・・・.
The dream ・・・・・・・・・・ true.

Hi. New poster here. Looked like a good site, so I decided to jump in.
I took delivery of a new Concours14 ABS last Saturday - very pleased. This might be the smoothest bike I've ever ridden. Only the Honda GL1800 compares. Handling and braking are spectacular. Power should be more than adequate - but I'm still breaking it in.

Silver - it's the only color in the US for now.
