Drain Plug washers / Micron Exhaust

I have bought some gear oil to change the rear diff but the dealer didnt have the drain plug 'crush' washer.

The workshop guy said it would be OK to use the old one - have you guys re used the old washer without problems.

With copper washers I always re use and heat to dull red then quench - this softens them so they bed down and form a seal. Does anyone know whether this 'anealing' process works with the soft aluminium crush washers?

Bye the way I noticed the dealer has taken the Two Bros can off his demo GTR and replaced it with a Micron can. The manager (who uses the bike) says he found the Two Bros (fitted with Power Tip) too loud on a long run.I started and revved the bike and above 2000 RPM I couldnt hear the exhaust above the engine mechanical noise. At Idle and blipping throttle it sounded OK. Definately less noise than Two Bros.

Any ally crush washer will do so long as it is the same size. Doesn't have to be the oem part. Most bike service depts have a stack of them. You could just take the old one down to your local and get them to match it.

I used the same washer when I changed my gear oil and I had no problem. Even after riding down to the Outer Banks of North Carolina no leaks.
