Hello! New guy here.. Break in?

Hi All,
Just picked up my new GTR14. It had 200 miles. The shop where I bought it didn't give me a owners manual. A few questions please.
1. If it did come with a manual where is it located.
2. Is the break in period 4k up to 500mi then 6k to 1000mi?

Thanks Mike

A new bike with 200 miles!@#

I hope you got it at a really good price.

Sounds like a demo model.

From what I can recall, break in was 4K and below for the first 600 miles (took all of about 2 or 3 rides to break it in).

In one of the stickies is the pdf of the service manual. That would have additional info too.

You did get 2 fobs with it at least?

AND, probably contrary to what the dealer told you, The tire pressure display readings should be in PSI not dashes! You're lucky if you got one that works from the beginning. I envy you the 70 degree readings, we're already pushing the HIGH 90's.

That's what my book says for my 08 zx14, it was very difficult.

Thanks again. I ordered a manual and I downloaded the service manual from a link on this forum.
Today in Lake county was delicious. Keeping under 4k is torture

Or...

Rather than tearing up your new ride, Just be reasonable. Keep the runs to high rpms brief and infrequent for the first 1K miles. Don't ride the bike hard, just ride it.

When I picked up my bike I was given the break in run down by the parts guy and dealership owner. When I got out side I had one very minor issue with the bike, one of the experienced mechanics stepped out to fix the problem. I asked him how he would break in this bike if it were his. His suggestion was to ignore the good advice I had just received and ride the bike a bit harder than normal but don't get carried away. Limit time in the higher rpms till 1k miles and on startup let the engine warm up till it can off fast idle before taking off.

The only other thing I would add to all that is to make the first oil change sooner rather than later. I did mine at 50, 300, 700 and 1000 miles and am on the 3k interval now.
