Maybe its all the glitz on the side bars; but for myself I've been virus hunting. My own fault going to dodgy websites. But after changing anti-virus programs, repairing Xp twice, bootlogging and playing extensively with regedit, I nailed the bugger by the drastic method of slaving the boot drive from this box into another and deleting the two *.dlls which were addons in IE causing the security settings to be set back to zero when booting up. The best and easiest would have been to delete the partition and do a clean install but then I dreaded putting back on 4 years of programs.

Oh I did manage to fit a trackday in amongst all of this

Not much happening here. Only been out a couple of times and have the bike basically where I want it. So we built a 300 square foot table in the basement and set up a 100 foot slot car track.

I can report the Scalextric slot bikes are miserable to run. Slow and top heavy.

For me its the web site and the overabundance of adverts that make the loading and getting around far too tedious.

Maybe all moved to http://www.concours.org/forum/default.asp ...

Maybe they're -old posters - tired of non-activity, or what almost every started serious thread becomes only few - or none - answers...

I'm of similar opinion to Davo. only visit occasionally, but still it takes 15 -18 seconds or more to action a function... very unexciting considering the speed and power of the website's subject matter LOL

It's a little paradox that sites with much more members and much more threads and posts doesn't have any kind of boring blackmailing waiting to see anything...

Admins, you should find some other way to earn the money, not with such a cheap extortion and compulsion to be "I-don't-know-what-kind-of-member-which-can-I-don't-know-how-much-than-now"... like sites with much more members do.

Such a flatness is so low.

Inactivity

I still come by fairly regularly, but find myself napping between the pages loading. Like the old forum MUCH better. I am almost at 7k now, have the buzz but thats about it. Just about to put the Avon Storms on her.

I have been away for the weekend at the Ace cafe and was pleasantly surprised that the page had finally loaded up by the time I got back

Hi all,
I'm still around, don't post much as I don't really like the new site, and the doctors have ordered me to lay off on the keyboard.

If a GTR1400 forum was "found" that had no adverts and just the basics would anyone be interested?

I check in here every few days, but the main cog site is the one that's getting all the attention it seems (even if it is running antiquated software).

Yup, it's not that slow for me (fast broadband) but still pretty irritating and definately not worth paying for. That said, there are plenty of forums out there (I am active in this, Concours.org and GTRMania as well as subscribed to the COG email list and administering the GTR Club Europe email list) but none are UK specific. I think a UK one would be good.
Any volunteers to set one up? I can help admin if needed.

The COG forum and our Australian GTR-AUS.com site are enough for me.

See some of you on the road maybe.

Hey folks. I'm a newbie here, but I'd be all over a GTR1400 only forum. In the meantime, I will try to make some noise, and positively contribute, around here.

It's nice to see some familiar screennames / people around here. For those of you who have been around the "Connie", XX-Blackbird, or some of the firearms forums, I'm the same Griff.

I've been pleased with the GTR14, although like many who have come off pure sport-bikes, I'm disappointed with the low-end performance. Kawasaki really neutered the engine down low.

So far:
- Cee Bailey's Euro Cut (great for my 5'10" 32" inseam frame)
- Pillion Peg Extenders and Honda Shadow Pegs from JamminJere
- Garmin Zumo 550 on a Techmount

On it's Way:
- Premier Accessories Tail Rack with Pillion Backrest
- Starcom Advance

Next:
- Flies out
- PC3

'Almost the weekend. Everyone ride safe,

Griff

OK, leave it with me, I'll get it tagged to my gaming forums, once i get it sorted I'll let you all know. Will take me a few days as i've got to keep my time at the keyboard to a controlled minimum.

I hate to see this forum going down the tubes, we used to have a bunch of fun on here.. It seems we've all found better places to talk about our favorite ride. This used to be a very active informative site.. lately its just dead. I like the information available on the cog site and still like helping others, but the whining is usually pretty high over there.

Ian, hope you're well on the mend, and if you "find" the site you're lookin for, email me with the details, and I'll be there faster than my bike overtakes big Suzuki's at lunchtime.

Reese buddy... we still need to hook up for a ride sometime soon... I'm still involved with ST.N and will be touring to their Nationals in Eureka Springs, AK, the second week of June, Actually from June 6th to the 15th.. Other than that I have no big rides scheduled this season. That trip will be about 3500mi for me, and I'm having trouble waiting to go.

Griff, Welcome to this once great forum..... Griff is a great guy, fellows, please welcome him. Hope to see you posting more around here as well.

Hope everyone is doing well, and are fully enjoying their C14/GTR's, they way they are intended to be.

See you on the road,

Jerry
