ladies and gentlemen JESTER has entered the building!!!
Hi all, I am back
I am sure that you were wondering were that bloody australian has been and being christmas time before I left I didnt get a chance to log on and update you all on my planned adventure!
Wll for those who are still reading and maybe even a little interested now I was on a 3 week 15,000km bike tour around half of australia. Yes we we have good riding weather right now (hands up who's jealous?)
I started in Sydney with another mate both traveling very light with just a 2 sets of clothes and a tent, and headed up the east coast along the beaches to the Daintree Rainforest. From there we headed back down the coast a bit and turned right to make our way across the aird hot land scape and then up to Darwin.
After Darwin we headed down to more hot and dry land towards Ayres Rock and the Australian desert. Then from there we took our time th head further south to Adeliade then back across to Sydney.
It was a lllonnnggg ride with alot of nothing between places and for those who doubted whether I could do it on a supersport I would like to say that both Nina (ninja) and I are safe and had a ball!
I would like to say thanks to
Michellin = those roadpilot 2's look like they could do the trip again
Kawasaki = for making an awsome bike that did not play up once!even when I didnt have access to premium unleaded petrol so unleaded 91 had to do!
Oxtar Boots = considering I didnt take shoes (to heavy) I lived in my boots and even climbed Ayres rock in them!
Cannon = for recording all the fun times including one bike drop (not mine) being challenge by a cowboy to a race against him on his horse and us on our bikes (should have been turned off tap alot earlier) and my tantrum after blowing a hole in my airbed after a 1000km day and had to sleep on the drought ridin floor!
Had an awesome trip and just wish I had more time!

Sounds great Jester... glad you had a blast.
Oh, and my hand is up... but not for the weather only... I'm jealous of your whole trip, it sounds amazing (except for losing the air mattress).

Sounds great Jester! I have a map of Australia back home (been entertaining the idea of going to vet school over there) so I will log back on and trace your trip to get a handle of your route. Damn, I'm sure jealous of the trip, Miami is pretty decent all year round when it's not raining, but I do enjoy long hauls.

Glad you survived... I'm talking to the bike
Sounds lilke you had a wonderful experience. Can't wait for the video or some still shots. Australia has been on my list of countries I would like to visit before I see grim reaper. Can you rent sport bikes there? I would love to replicate that experience...well except the hole in the air bed incident.

nope just had to ride straight through it
and can I tell you that water proofing all your clothes and gear bag does abosolutely nothing when its raining that hard (you guys will crack up when you see the photo of me wearing a garbage bag with holes cut in it for arms and head just to try and keep dry.)
Thanks for the support and if you guys do decide to come down let me know as I can get you a bit of info on locations and routes before you get here!

Holy Sh!t!! You weren't kidding around about the rates. I might need to take your offer on the airbed to save me some $$. Does your airbed come with a hot aussie chick to "keep me company" on the journey?

thats funny its says premium unleaded on mine and that equals 95 or higher.
Especially when normal unleaded is 92. Sounds like the petrol companies are pushing there weight around in Aus.

here are some photos of the trip
I know it has taken a while but I just got the photo's from the holiday off my mates memory stick so I thought I would share!
the bikes fully loaded on our second day
sometime's the search for good fuel was a challenge
after 3 days of rain it just got harder to stay dry so this is what i had to resort to!
once the clouds broke so could see to the end of the horizon
we traveled far enough to see the stark contrasts of Australia
and finally some of the nice places we got to camp in along the way!
It was alot of fun and already planing the next round trip!
