Hello Everyone
I can't honestly say that I belong here. I'm looking at buying a ninja and I wanted a little feed back. I've got a 1985 Honda Rebel 250 that I've been driving for almost a year but now I'm looking to upgrade. I found a 1985 Ninja ZX900-A2 that has 19,000 miles on it. i haven't seen it yet but the guy said "New Bridgestone Battleax Tires Front & Rear,New Glossy Black Paint, New Battery,WaterPump,Air Filter,Oil & Filter Change, New Antifreeze & Tstat" He is asking $1,500. What kind of things should I look for if/when I go look for it. I've heard somethings about this bike overheating, is this much of a problem.
Thanks for any help you guys have

Hey everyone. My name is Trevor. I have recently become a motorcycle enthusiast, mostly sport bikes. I'm actually thinking about buying one really soon, and maybe v-logging! (any v-loggers here?) I'm looking at Ninja's, specifically the 250r, and 500. I'm almost tempted to get the 650r, since that's still a somewhat decent beginner bike. Any tips and what not would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

Talking new forum user in southern Illinois

I live in the Marion/Carbondale area, and just purchased a new leftover '08 ZX-6R (yellow).

I grew up in central Virginia, and spent about a dozen years in the Army. When I got out of the Army, I decided I wanted to do something fun for a while, so I attended MMI. I went to their Phoenix campus, and initially took the Harley-Davidson electives. Later, I went back and took the Suzuki elective as well (the F.A.S.T. program). I think it's a pretty good school. I only worked briefly as a mechanic (at a Harley dealership, and later at an aftermarket shop) before serving as service manager. We moved to southern Illinois a couple years ago, and I took a break from the industry. I’m a stay-at-home Dad now.

I'm a member of the Iron Butt Association. In 2005 I rode from Texas to Laguna Seca to watch the MotoGP race. My buddy and I decided to ride the entire way back to Texas non-stop. We did 1,767 miles in 32 hours. I was on a Yamaha FZ6 at the time. There are a couple links in my sig block. One is for a write-up I did about the Iron Butt ride, and the other is for a write-up I did about my motorcycle trip through Europe (on a rented BMW F650).

I follow MotoGP, World Superbike and the Isle of Man TT. I guess I would count as a Valentino Rossi, Marco Melandri, Joey Dunlop and Eric Bostrom fan. Other than the race at Laguna in '05, I also saw the inaugural MotoGP race in Indianapolis last year. I've been to numerous AMA, WERA and CCS road-racing events over the years; but have never had enough cash to race myself (it always seems to be tied up in my newest bike). I would like to do it some day... before my bones get so old that they turn to powder. I've worked as a cornerworker a bunch of times.

I have owned a ton of motorcycles. Here is a list of the bikes I’ve owned (pretty much in the order that I owned them):

1984 Kawasaki LTD 550
1985 Honda Rebel 250
1991 Harley-Davidson XLH-883 Sportster
1976 Yamaha XS360
1996 Harley-Davidson FXDWG Dyna Wide Glide
1999 Ducati 750 Supersport
2000 Kawasaki Concours
1999 Ducati ST2
1999 Ducati M750 Monster
2000 Harley-Davidson XL883 Sportster
2002 Suzuki SV650
1981 Suzuki GS750L
2004 Buell XB12S Lightning
2003 Ducati 999 Monoposto
2004 Suzuki SV650
2003 Honda Metropolitan
1981 Suzuki GS450E
2005 Yamaha FZ6
2006 Suzuki SV650
2007 Triumph Bonneville T-100
2008 Kawasaki Ninja 650R
2008 Kawasaki Vulcan 900 Classic LT
2007 Kawasaki Ninja 650R
2008 Honda CRF70F (my son's... still in the garage)
2008 Kawasaki KLX 250S
2008 Suzuki RM-Z250
2009 Kawasaki Ninja 250R
2009 Vespa LX 150
2009 Triumph Thruxton
2009 Vespa GTS 250ie
2009 Buell XB12R Firebolt
2000 Buell X1 Lightning
2009 Moto Guzzi V7 Classic (working on selling this one)
2008 Suzuki DR650SE
2008 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R

Before any of you go signing me up for Motorcycle Shopper's Anonymous, keep in mind that some of these were bikes I purchased just to repair and then sell. I admit that the turnover has been pretty crazy.... then again, I could have put all my money in the stock market and lost it overnight.

The New Guy to ZX forums

Hi whats up? My name is Josh and I'm a newby at riding street bikes. Raced dirtbikes when i was younger but for my 21st bday i bought a 2005 Zx6R Titanium in color. Mods include Yosh slip on, integrated tail light, flush mounts, frame sliders, grips and bar ends. Just moved to Panama City, FL. Love riding and the atmosphere that comes with it. Don't know much about my bike other than I like it. It's quick and looks good for my standards anyway. I do have a question about a tag bracket since I dont have the stock tail pipe. Can Anyone tell me where to get one before I get a ticket lol. Pics coming soon. And if your close reply and we'll ride sometime Thanks

Hi, everyone. My name is Kyle, originally from Maryland. I have a 2008 Ninja zx-6r in vivid yellow. It is my 5th bike, but this is the first time I have joined a bike forum. I wish it was under better circumstances. I bought the bike from an out of state dealer. The freight carrier had an accident involving a fire and didnt tell me about it. I opened the crate and every square inch of the bike is covered in soot. Trying to resolve the claim now. It really sucks.

New guy from Michigan

Hey everyone...figured I'd finally post on here, been lurking for awhile.

Picked up an 07 zx6r from a guy who was apparently scared of it...only had 360 miles on it and was bone stock.

Been riding for about 15years, had a 94 zx6.

I'm working to do some mods and such...so far just relocated the rear brake res and working on murdering it out. Also picked up some wheel stripes and a kit from Citation to throw a little green on it.

Hi, i joined today to see what people thought of the GTR1400 as i'm looking at buying one in the next few weeks. I own a ZXR750 H1, Tiger 1050 and XL600R at the moment. The GTR will be for Euro touring mainly, i use my Tiger for that at the moment but fancy something built for the job, are they as good as the reviews?

Hi everyone! Enjoyed all your pix. I haven't ridden in 18 years and got the itch again. I have only had Harley's and need a change of pace.

Fn New guy here. Just got my new bike Zx6r. Love riding it through the hills, Had the bike two weeks and have 1500 miles on it. I know I love the bike, but I think my wife hates it. Ditched the Harley and the wifey wont get on the back of this one. Worth every penny I paid for it, should've done it years ago. Looking for new mods for the bike so let me know some of the best mods you've made. See ya on the road!
