Maybe I should just give it up....
I am pretty sure that most of you are aware of the string of bad luck that I have been having since I purchased my 636 about 6 months ago. Everything from eating curbs to inspecting truck bumpers. Just today, I was engaged my a Sunday ride when on my return trip, I hit a divot in the ashalt, and the screw for my shifting lever falls out. I managed to ride back safely in second gear the whole way, but, why does crap always happen to me?
All of the squids on their friggin' Gixxers ride like idiots and nothing ever happens to them.
I obey the law and ride like I have a brain and I get hit by a damn truck. I can't even take a Sunday ride without my bike falling apart like the P.O.S. trucks we had in Iraq.
I have my speedohealer configured to read 1-2 MPH faster than I am going so I stay close to the speed limit and don't get a ticket, yet cops follow me for miles and stop me for "routine checks". I saw a guy on a 'Busa in a tank top and shorts racing a WRX STI a couple of days ago and nothing happens to the Wiskey Tango hippie-f@ggot as he rockets past a police car under an overpass. Yet, I have full gear on and am doing the speed limit and he stop me. ME! WTF!
Maybe I should just sell the bike and become a cager for life. I need the money anyway. The cage needs to be fixed before I can get it inspected or before I get stopped again for faulty equipment.
Oh yeah, Wiskey Tango - noun: phonetic alphabet term for white trash used by infantrymen.
Just so you know.

You should sign your title over to me immediately before anything else happens. I'm only thinking about your safety. I'm on vaca next week, I'll do you a huge favor and come down and take it off your hands for you. Just split the gas with me for the trip and you got a deal.

Dude, I dont know what to tell you, but I cant see how anything could make you want to give up riding. Yeah, ok, so things dont go your way lately. It happens and I know that yorue probably tired of hearing that, but at some point, things will get better. Maybe its not riding, maybe its just that bike. Maybe its just odd circumstance. I dont know, but you should know Murphys Law better than any of us.
It might not be that helpful to hear or anything, but still. Im sure you love to ride, otherwise you wouldnt have a 636, you'd have something else, like a gixxer. You shouldnt change your mind just yet.

Don't know if it helps but I was talking to a guy today who rides a gsxr 1000 and he went down last night. Like I said don't know if it helps but everyone goes down. Sorry about the bad luck but I dont think it is any reason to give up the ride if you love it as much as you have said you do. Just fix the problem and wait for the next one. Sorry to say it but there is always going to be something that you want/need to fix.
Good Luck hope it changes soon, keep your head up high

Very good points!
Your bike may be the problem; it may be a lemon. I really don’t believe in them but then again we’ve all had them and we never can explain why. They just are!
As Bulldog said, don’t quit man, you are a Marine! Fix the bike or get another one. I remember Shifty1 had a lot of problems with his bike’s sprockets and he just fixed the things and carried on!
And as Beer4Blood said cops may target you if you look to obviously military, I’ve heard that before. You know it’s like that old teasing between the services, if you know what I mean. They just like to feel the power over someone that deserves more respect and in the end may have more power than themselves. They do leave alone the higher ranking military members especially officers.
Don’t quit man! It may be as simple as a switch in your attitude.

Well, maybe you just used up all those unfortunate happenings, smooth sailing from here on out perhaps?

Someone is doing some good looking out for your Marine ass!!!!!
Besides, your bikes been through hell, it's gonna loose a screw. You need to make sure you check your bike's screws, tires and chain before you ride.

So, if I change my name to "Satan'sHelper666", I'll wreck my bike once a month?
