shit it aint carb'd. good for you nice upgrade, but unless you got it with about 10k miles for $1500 you still coulda got a kawi if you really really wanted it but who really gives a damn, when it comes down to it you're paying for it so get what you want or the best you can get for what you have to spend.

Actually, there really isn't much in the way of affordable Kawi's around here. I've been looking for one for her ever since I bought her old one, to try to keep her in the family, and she doesn't even know it because I haven't found anything yet. At least now I know to stop looking.

There's a reason why Gixxer's are so popular, cos they are very good! I have to sublimate my love for Suzuki's whilst i'm on this site, Oh and for the naysayer's the current lap record holder on the Nurburgring is a GSXR600,enjoy!!

Nice try. It would matter more if it were a stock bike, but it wasn't- it was a project bike based on a K7. Furthermore, every time Andypath has ridden The Ring he's done it faster than the time before, which makes perfect sense. Put him on a different bike and watch him do it again... shwiiiiiing.
Additionally, he isn't the lap record holder. That would be Michael Vergers, in a Radical SR8. A company which, in unrelated trivia, based their beginnings on a Kawasaki motorcycle.

...to 50%?! Damn. That'd be almost worth the trip, depending on what's what.

I'm with JBear. No Gixxer for me either. I saw a guy on a Hayabusa today while I was getting the oil changed on the cage-mobile popping wheelies and weaving through rush hour traffic with a tank-top and shorts on. after that, I reached down and rubbed my heavily scarred knee and hoped that he wouldn't get to find out what road-rash feels like. Every guy that I see doing something stupid is always on a Gixxer.

[quote=SoldMySoul2Kawi;167738]...............Suzuki I sold Jess (Jbear) my Zx-6 and was looking around on craigslist for a new bike. I saw a couple Kawi's but they were way out of my price range. So i came across this 05' Gsxr 600 and couldn't pass up the offer. I know you're all dissapointed, but i only had so much money to spend and it was in the town that i lived in and it's the newest bike i've ever owned and it's not carburated Oh and it's very comfortable for me. I hope you can all forgive me... I'm a trader, i know. I'll always love Kawi till i die though!! Maybe own another one some day, but for now, this is my new baby... (and Sean10R)
Congrats on the new bike. Have a blast on it, that's all that matters. You certainly are a trader (I'm sure you've swapped stuff with people), but I won't call you a traitor (committing treason) if you keep visiting us on the forum!
I know, I'm anal. The nuns did too good a job beating English into my thick skull.
Again, Congrats!

Just because it is a project bike does not detract from the point, if the basic platform of the GSXR is so poor which is what a lot of people are suggesting then it wouldn't have been chosen as the basis of the P3 Unlimited K6.Regardless of the aftermaket suspension and tuning its still road legal and and still a GSXR600.To be honest I would have thought it was pretty obvious that I meant bike records as well, this is a bike forum after all!

No, THIS was the point: put Andy Carlile on a project 636, R6, CBR600, etc, and watch him break his record again. Because that's what he does. It's not the bike, it's the rider- and every time he goes around the same track he learns, and improves.

JBear is right.
It's like someone doing a lap in a Mustang, and then switching to a Gallardo and doing another lap on the same track.
