That Highway 2 road is a nice run from either side. Reggie and I did it a couple weeks ago, but it was closed after about 50 miles from La Canada side to Wrightwood.

Damn, it appears that everyone is going to Vegas for something or other. This is the 3rd person I've heard.
...different for you though, since you just moved from there.

I decided to bail on the wedding out there.

Wow, 3 hours? It should take no more than 20 minutes to do a complete oil change. That oil filter is in there tight, but once you get the hang of it, it is a piece of cake. I use a universal oil filter clamp. I use no extension on my ratchet and keep it behind the side fairing for better grip.

Yup. Autozone. It might be even easier to get the actual size, but the universal one works just as great. What did you use to loosen it?

NO problem aris maybe you should try KN oil filter it comes with a 17mm nut on the top to eliminate that problem with removing it and it should be the same size as the oil drain plug... product number is kn-303 i use it all the time. If you wanna track your bike it has a predrilled holes to safety wire it.

http://www.knfilters.com/oilfilter.htm.... thats the site check it out

hey at least you got it done. just to let you know i switch my oil to a different brand... After going to the AMA's last weekend i started using the good stuff the racers use. Maxima Oil really good stuff and engine runs smooth and shifts better and i notice a lil power gain...

I think I'm going to order that K&N and get some of the Maxima oil and do a switch out so I can be familiar with the process. Just waiting on my bike stands. What tool do you use to remove the original filter; Ray and where did you get your Maxima oil?

Sounds good. Just came back from passing your neck of the woods. I rolled out to Laguna Niguel (k-solo) to check out STDreams.com. He's a member on here. He's right off Oso & Cabot. Ordered my Two Brothers with the Custom Shop and I'm having them cut the pipe down to 15". Ordered ASV levers, Vortex rear sprocket, EK Chain, DynaJet Jet Kit & Spiegler Brake lines.

I'd probably be more inclined to do Mondays or Tuesdays for the Rock Store; also.

Just got back from hitting up the LA Crest (Highway 2) all the way through to Wrightwood. It was a nice ride, the road was clean and after a while it was nothing but new paved road. Highly recommended ride.
