Bike got tipped in the Pking Lot
Whats up all,
Just posting the latest updates. Got a call from the Low Jack saying my bike is in motion. Came home after that call! Bike in my space with a note on the door. Evidently a neighbor backed up hit my rear tire and high sided it. Now my exhaust is dinged up, foot peg, brake lever, engine case, frame slider, handle bar end and the new replacement mirror all need some paint or some good insurance money replacing. SO, any ideas on "how bad" the tip over could have "messed up" my STOCK exhaust system?

Enough to get their insurance to buy you a new one. But really, if they cut you a check for a new stock exhaust and all of the other parts needing to be replaced, you could use the same money to upgrade to an aftermarket slip-on and replace all of the other stuff as well.

Huh... I thought you had to call them to tell them your bike was in motion if it got stolen! They're literally monitoring it all the time? Enough to know it had been tipped over in place? I'm not sure how I feel about that.
On topic though, it's cool of your neighbor to be a man about it. I'm not sure I understand the question though... are you implying the stock exhaust was already messed up, asking if there might be more damage to it than you can see, or something else altogether?

Jess- if you pay the extra 350 bones you can get a motion sensor installed that immediately goes off when your bike moves if it doesn't have the Key Fod (half dollar sized emitter that deactivates the sensor) with in like 20-30ft. Its a REALLY REALLY nice system to have if your bike isn't in a nice warm safe place like a garage. haha.
As per the exhaust, I have a Leo Vince GP style slip on. Love the pipe. I was asking if a tip over like that could cause damage to the catalytic converter or appear to damage that waste of material? I'm wanting a nice Leo Vince Full exhaust to replace it.

Ah, I see. And, I see. Mine is in a garage at home, but that doesn't help much in the mall parking lot! I think that would be better than an alarm.
I don't know about the exhaust, but I'm fairly confident that a tip isn't going to damage your header or mid pipe. I guess what I should say is, I don't think you'll convince the insurance company that it did. About the only thing I can think of that might would be trying to go over a speed bump or something you don't have enough clearance for. I could be wrong though, which would be good for you.

Unfortunately I didn't get that money from the truck driver I was to wrapped up in keeping the bike upright without air in the front tire and myself out from under the trailling traffic sneaking up ever so quickly to have a chance to chase them down and ever so kindly abuse my fist on there face. If I coulda I woulda believe me. they didn't even know it happened or acted that way at least?
