Weight Limit
I am wondering about the safety of a rider who is close to the weight limit on a '98 cbr 600f3. I let him ride my 07'zx6 and he seemed alright. he weighs about 310lbs, the weight limit on the f3 is about 380lbs. My concern is that hes going to accelerate all the wear and tear parts: brakes, chain, sprockets, fork seals, clutch..you get the picture. another thing that worries me is the handling aspect. will he be safe dipping through corners like myself and other guys that he would be riding with do. I wouldnt want him to push the limit and end up putting it down. If anybody has any insight into this situation i would appreciate it.

That bike is way, way too small for him. I'm sure it's safe enough, but I don't see how it would be any fun.

He'll understand when the F3 he's trying to take off on is begging for mercy while some pansy on a Honda Rebel 250 walks away from him like he's sitting still.

Must be like a circus bear riding a bicycle or a gorilla humping a Gerbil
Weight wise the bike can handle it though.

That's why I started off on a 600 instead of a 250. I weigh around 250 before I gear up. If I had known last year what I know now, I'd be riding a ZX14. I got used to a 600 in a few weeks. Now I want to go faster and maybe long distance too. Something a 600 is not designed for.

I ride a 10R and weigh 155, I can't imagine anything smaller. If I gain any weight at all I'm stepping up to a ZX14.

It's not exactly slow, but I'm hoping when I put some speed parts on it'll grow some balls.

155?... hell... i haven't seen that on a scale since i was 13....a 10r should have no problem with your weight... at all.. i'm 210 before i gear up... and i'm the full gear type. a tracked a 600 for a bit... sure guys your size would crawl away on the straights... all the more fun to reel-'em back in in the turns...
but i've ridden the last three years of 10r... i don't even think the '08 knew i was on it... those bikes are FAST!... hell... my gear alone is 1/3 your weight... LOL... i think a zx14 might mistake you for a large tank bag or something....

Well, it's all I've really ridden recently so I don't have much to keep it in perspective. When I ride something else they just feel achingly slow, they don't make mine feel fast. I know it is, it just doesn't feel nearly as scary as it did when I first got it. I've gotten used to it. And when my wife is on the back, forget it... I can really tell it's working to get up and go. I'm thinking a TRE should really wake up the bottom when I have a passenger, maybe a PCIII/K&N/slip on if it needs more. If that doesn't do it, I'm stepping up to a better bike. IMO if it really had power, I wouldn't have to be tacking it out to feel it.

Wow, that's a lot of weight for that model. He has to get a bigger one to be safe.
