I was so close to driving over a motorcyclist today.
I'm driving a tipper ( thats a ten wheeler tipper, 60 tonne in usa lingo, bogey drive tipper 30 tonne in oz) there was a after glow from the sunset in my eyes, i do a left and the road drops down to my right and heads downhill, the road is very narrow and bumpy so I'm sticking to the middle of the road. The headlight arent so bright at this time of night. Right there in front of me is a dirt bike with no head light I haul the wheel to the left (right for U.S. folks) and miss the fella by only inches, "fuck me swinging" .... I shit myself. OMG ... that has to be the closest I've come to knocking a bike, I felt so bad for a few hours
the roads I'm driving on have drops to either side .... like hundreds of feet ..... you have to play it safe and not go near the edge as they are soft for large trucks. this dumb shit was in the middle of the road with no lights going like a bat out of hell. WTF
soo lucky I'm not looking at a dead person right now.
We have right of way in these back roads but this bloke didn't care either way ..... I'm still shaking and rightly pissed off

Well the best thing is that you're both still here. I both drive and ride Splityard Ck road up here in SEQld (local road) and notice quite often how many Sunday Motorcyclists come around the few low vision corners hanging over the double white lines. Makes me wince too.

yeah, theres plenty of idiots on dirt bikes around where i live, no license, no registration, no insurance(all of which i have!).......idiots. now i like to ride fast and yeah there are times i get a bit excited and do the ghost rider thing,(or atleast attempt my version) so yeah ill admit i can be an idiot too, but these boys fang it up and down these roads and around the blocks and i guess it pisses me off. a mate almost cleaned one up leaving my house. wont be long and someone will die. glad to hear your ok and avoided a fatality as well as emotional scaring.
