annodizing

I want my (silver) forks annodized black.

anyne had this done? or is there a factory black fork that will work with my '07 zx6r?

this is before i set my suspension up, (starting to notice a little sag) so I can pull 'em apart & send 'em out.

any help is apprieciated.

p.s. -- I want zx14 wheels (for the street) are there adapters that will let me fit a set on my zx6r? a thread in the 6r section said they won't fit; but didn't say what won't fit.

$250 apiece? way better than $2k

Don't quote me on this, but I believe the ZX14 wheel is too wide for the ZX6 swingarm assembly- although they've grown, the newer ZX6 wheels are about an inch wider than they were ten years ago. Still, I think they're only around 5.5" and the ZX14 wheels are 6". I'm sure someone knows for sure, hang tight...

If your going to get your forks coated, you want to DLC (Diamond Like Coating or something like that). It is the best and last the longest. It should cost you about 200 for the coating and 75 to have the lower part taken off and re-installed (the part the brakes bolt to and the axle goes through).

thx waldo, the DLC (diamond-like carbon) is some nice (very hard) stuff. saw an '08 zx6r last night, he had black forks... kawasaki got the right idea a year too late...

For zx-14 wheels i'll bust out my angle grinder for want of an inch.

zx14's run 190/50-17's
zx6's run 180/55-17's

front tire's are the same size.
