decent exhaust
i need some advice on what exhaust works well. i have a 06 zx-10r and i have been looking at the two bros flange type bolt on and the yoshi carbon fiber flange type bolt on. i am mainly looking for the sound bc lets face it. stocks sounds lame. if anyone has used either one, let me know and that will help influence my decision. thanks

no sound is not better than weight or performance but when the bike is fast enough on its own, im not necessarily looking to jump the performance level alot and or shave weight to race. i don't run moto GP so it doesnt really matter all that. so i am looking for a good looking pipe that will give good sound and offer some performance.

fair enough.... give it a couple months, then you'll be looking for more. ive got the yoshi trc carbon bolt ons and i love em. not TOO loud at all. good for me cos i work afternoon shift and comin home at 2am attracts too many cops.they still have a nice note without being blatantly obnoxious. being carbon fibre they actually absorb alot of the noise level. even with the low volume inserts taken out.so if you want loud, stick with the stainless ti or the like. also contributing to the lower volume i guess is the fact that there is two pipes and not one, obviously. the yoshis are straight thru pipes, not road legal, i havent had another dyno run yet but maybe i could see an increase of 1-2 hp??? and a slight increase in torque. you'd probably lose that with dyno operating differences. not that its noticeable.

so you would recommend the yoshi TRC over the two bros then. like i said, i am not looking for a monster horsepower pipe. just something that will sound better than stock. and yeah youre right, a little more time, i might be looking for some extra punch in my bike but since i made the switch from dirt to street, the plain old 1000 is plenty for me over my little 450's.

Akrapovic dual TI or Carbon Fiber? I have a set of TI on mine and I have no problems and/or complaints about them. Some people will probably jump in and claim that everyone has one (see other threads), but who can deny that they are a great product and maybe that's why a lot of people choose to have them...?!

when you did the akro exhaust did you need to change the mapping of the fuel or not. i know it say recommended but not required, but if you don't do like a power commander, does it make it run like shit? also where can you find the akro for a decent price. them shits are expensive. thanks ducky

I got my Akro first and ordered my power commander a few weeks later. I basically was running my bike for a few weeks with just the Akro and I didn't really notice the bike running "like sh!t" as you put it. The only noticeable difference from stock would be the sound of course. Maybe if I was a track junkie or a highly trained superbike tuner and not just an average street rider, I would notice any performance issues if any. When I installed the PC, I loaded it with Akro map available from PC website. I did notice the bike running a tad bit smoother and little bit more responsive, but nothing drastically different from running it without the PC. I might get better performance fine tuning if I had the bike dynoed but that's something for the future.
As far as where to purchase them: I bought both the Akro and PC from hardracing.com I lucked out when I bought my Akro from them because they were having an overstock sale on that particular model I needed According to their website, they will beat if not match any competitors prices, so I would do some price searching and call them out on their claim
