Suomy USA no longer - old news?

I was just checking out helmets and I went to the Suomy site and realized that Suomy USA is no longer. Is this old news? It says they will not be handling warranty or any other issues. Does this mean that we will be seeing some pretty good deals on their helmets?

I am looking for a quieter helmet with a more secure feel than my Joe Rocket provides and Suomy is on the top of my list. I hate to see them go.

suomy helmets are pretty loud.
if your looking for a quiet helmet, id look at the rf1000 or x11.

i have a suomy vandal, and its not the best on noise.

I have an old Suomy Fazer Miladin from 2000. Still looks and feels like new. I find it to be quieter than the Shoei and Arai I've worn. If it is too loud, you may have purchased the wrong size. However, it's a pain in the butt trying to get service I agree. Went through a month long process with my local dealer trying to get a replacement visor in a different color. Finally just gave up on it after the wrong visor was sent to me. I think Suomy USA was in the process of closing down the doors at that time. This was a couple months ago. If you can find a good deal on one, I'd recommend you get it though. They are great helmets and built for performance and safety.

One of my local shops has a Suomy Spec-1R Capirossi that they will sell me for $309. Think I am going to jump on it.

I work at a dealer and we're still stocking suomy. This is the first I've heard of this.

I always thought they were a high quality helmet, as good as the Arai & Shoei brands. The friend that I have that have owned them said they fit well & had minor issues with them. The Euro is strong & the Dollar is weak which looks like the determining factor in Suomy Spa's pull out from this market.

well if that's the case and you guys are looking for a good helmet, Shark is acutually safer than suomy. They've got a better interior foam design, shell, face sheild, and venting. about the same level with the noise factor and weight though.

I thought about trying a Shark out but there are no dealers around here so I have no way to try one on.
