Rules
Hi, I am trying to find out the rules for drag racing. I want to race my pretty much stock zx6r I live near Lebanon Valley Dragway in NY but I can find anything on the rules. Does anyone know what they are. What the bike has to have, Cant have, and required safety gear you have to wear?

For the local track here you have to have a helmet, pants, gloves, a riding jacket, and boots. Unless your running faster than 10.50 then you have to have on full leathers.

At the track you'll have to take your bike through tech. If the bike is pretty new they give it a quick glance and you'll be fine. No oil leaks, no coolant leaks, must have a chain guard, tires shouldn't look too shitty.

Some tracks require a tether kill switch in case you loose it so the bike shuts off. Cecil co. dragway requires it and Maryland International Raceway does not. So it depends on the track. Call them or just go there and ask tech before you take it. Some tracks are really anal about some stuff.

I've been looking for a tether kill switch for my 14. Any recommendations?
Lowering links also.

Schnitz has the tether switch. Very easy to install. I'm sure they have lowering links, too.

You're welcome. Schnitz has just about everything you need for the 14. They have excellent service, too.

The local track here doesn't make you tech in for grudge racing or test and tune.

After looking at the switches, most seem universal. You have to see what would work on your bike. Even though it says it's for a 14, the handlebar style mount won't work. I have to either attach to a bolt or inside the steering yoke,
