Personally, I wouldn't waste my time on that place. It was the worst venue on the F1 schedule..hence it's long overdue departure. I mean, there are plenty of REAL circuits in the US..first and foremost of course, the superb 4 miles and 14 corners of 'Road America' at Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin... closely followed by 'Watkins Glen' in upstate New York...plus lesser facilities at Road Atlanta, Bridgehampton and others. It's certain that any of these easily surpass the silly Indy oval, with it's 'goofy' infield portion only included to qualify as a "Road Racing circuit".
Actually I must confess to disliking the Indy F1 clownfest so much so that I refused tickets on several occasions...refusing to even watch it again after the first 'race' there.
Using Indy for any kind of real racing [ other than the boring and inane annual 'circle jerk' held there ] seems an act of desperation, to me anyway.
The US, and Canada need a real Moto GP, contested on a real GP circuit, not a consolation prize like Indy..

I Will Be There! As Much As I Hate To Agree With Ray The F1 Race Sucked!! But Check Out Indy 500 Website And You Can See All The Construction Going On To Make The Track A Awesome Gp Race. But Let Me Say If The Other Tracks Had The Heritage Indy Does Maybe They Could Get A Gp Race!!!

well If you didnt kow Indy has re-done the track and isnt even finished with it yet. I think it has 16 or 17 turns now and is much better than the F1 track. Beside if your really a motorcycle enthusiast whats better than going to watch 3 full day of bikes on the track? I know I will be there and lovin it.

Not at all Ride 92.. Hey, I've been at GP's in 5 countries..some of them with FIA credentials. Indy is the one place I'll not go.
FYI: I've driven racecars, and ridden racebikes in competition on Road America, Watkins Glen, Mid-Ohio, Indianapolis Raceway Park, Mosport and Thunderhill, to name a few here in north america. I've also driven Hochenheimring and the Nurburgring [ Nordschleif circuit ] in germany, as well as Spa Franchorchamps in Belguim and Austria's Saltzburgring. So, sorry to disappoint you, but jealousy is hardly an emotion I'd feel for anything imvolving the 'Brickyard'.
Tail for viewing? What? The point of the excercise is Motorsport... And to that end, an oval with a cobbled together infield section is still an oval. I think you miss the point. There are REAL world championship calibre circuits available in many parts of the continent, so choosing Indy is really idiotic. I suppose the argument about it's 'history' is valid..but The real reason I suspect, is because the date is available since Bernie dumped it from the F1 schedule..and the France/Kennedy families used their influence..which probably involved a hefty 'bonus' for the powers that be at FIM.
I suggest YOU investigate some of the behind the scene macchinations, rumours and innuendos involving IMS and the Frances', Georges' and Kennedys..

If Laguna Seca is selling out and indy holds almost 500,000 It will definately be a good time.

Hey, it's just that I've been doing this for many years..since the 60's.
Hating? WTF did that come from...whats believing that there are far better venues for roadracng than IMS have to do with hate?

For anybody coming to the race. I own a bar 1/2 mile from the track. Going to have a full bar/parking lot of sportbikes...
