Dude didn't even realize you were new when we were talking about slip-ons. If it makes you feel any better I got a nail in my tire right now too.

Welcome to the Forum.

The problem with patching is that you have to take the tire (and wheel) off to do it. Most places won't patch, they'd rather sell you a new tire. You can probably get someone to plug it, but the results are arguable. Many people ride thousands of trouble free miles on a plug, others won't even consider it. You have to check the pressure religiously every time you ride if you do though, they may work fine, but they can't be trusted.

Practical transportation is extremely over rated.
