Talking Hi. I'm Mynoven, and I'm an alcoholic. lol/jk

Hi guys(people I should say). I'm new here. I have just inherited some things from my grandfather that I'm going to sell. In a month or 2 I will finally be able to buy a bike. I was looking for some advice. I would like to get a 2008 Ninja 250r, but I'm 6'1" and 187lbs, and I hear you can out grow that quick. My friend has a 2000 750 zx-7 he is trying to sell me for about $2,000. It has under 6,000 miles and he is the original owner. He has taken very good care of it. I'm just afraid it might be a little to much power. I have ridden a dirt bike (750cc). It fit good, but took a bit to get us to the power. Thats about all the experience I've had on a motorcycle. The rest of my experiences have been on mopeds and regular mountain bike and bmx biking. Any advice would be great. Thanks.

P.S> I don't want to spend to much either in case I lay it down.

Thats a hell of a deal on the zx7r I wouldnt pass that up. I started out on a 97 7r for my first bike and Ive loved every minute of it. Just remember any bike can hurt or even kill ya its all in how ya respect the machine.
Oh yea you joined the right forum and welcome!

The 7r is a rather large bike weighing in right at 450lbs. Im 5'9 bout 235 and I love the size. Im not as comfortable on smaller 600s.

Welcome Mynoven! The ZX7 is fine if that's what your leaning to. Since you have a little bit of experience in riding two wheeled demons you probably already know that any bike only becomes "having to much power" in the hands of an imature, irresponsible rider you doesn't respect the power the bike has. Happy and safe riding

Thanks everybody!!!

I appreciate all your input. I talked to my friend about his bike more yesterday. After I get my endorsement He will let me ride around with it to try it out. I just hope I don't drop it. , but thats just me being paranoid. Thanks again!!!! Oh and RedneckHillbilly I always drive like I'm invisible too. I have 3+ years as a cab driver, So I have seen a lot (almost been hit by a cop while he was on his phone driving).
