There are indeed MANY unknowns regarding the "how...how many...when" particulars concerning this recall. Think about it for a minute...the 06 - 07 production of ZX-14's was over and done with when this recall was issued. I don't think that Kawasaki has a clue as to how many bikes are affected and if only certain production lines were the guity culprits. How do we know that "NARY" an 08 bike is affected? Did they simply check a few 08's coming off the line? It would appear that a careless approach to engine bolt torque setting procedures led to the recall on the 06 and 07 models, but on just which serial numbers and how many bikes are REALLY affected is anybody's guess. I still contend that there are many, many ZX-14 owners who have yet to take their bikes in for the recall...perhaps they will...perhaps they won't. It would be nice if Kawasaki would post numbers for all of us regarding how many bikes have been inspected...how many passed the inspection with the proper torque...how many failed...and perhaps more importantly how many had damaged frames due to this problem. Keep the rubber side down. Rock
