I found with min, if i have it so I rotate it little, the friction sleeve tends to require more effort on the throttle. I have mine shimmed so that it's almost a good half turn to lock it. When on the backroads, I keep it fully open, when on trips, I keep it partially locked (but the throttle is still free) so that it doesn't have to be turned as much to lock.

Play around with it some and you'll find what works best for you.

A true cruise control would still be nice, but nothing beats the installation time of a TM.
