On the highway I could get close to 40 and now it's closer to 45. Mine also has a problem that when taking off, about once in 100 times, it will get to 5 mph and the engine will just lock up with a backfire and die. It almost always is so violent that I'm unable to keep enough arm leverage and do a zero speed tip-over. So I now rev much higher and slip the clutch further until I'm up to about 20. But it points out that the 2000's had some issues with the programming.
