Went and had a look at mine. You can only lift the forks (ie lower the front of the bike) about 4mm (approx 3/16 inch) before the the stanchion diameter reduces. I would say that if you want to go further then you would probably have to buy another set of clipons to match this diameter but they would need to be some sort of clamp type that you could get on. You could possibly make up some split shims out of aluminium tube of the correct outside diameter and a wall thickness to match the smaller diameter. Alternatively alloy tube of correct inside diameter to match fork reduced diameter and have a machine shop turn the outside of the tube down so all will fit.

Further: The small amount of adjustment at the front is probably for those who wish to play with the shim thickness on the rear shock to enable slight changes in rake angle to compensate.
