Wow, I thought a lot more people would chime in. Well, I don't own a 14 yet (hopefully by the end of summer) and I will tell you that sliders will be my first mod. I have seen firsthand how much they can help save plastics. As for the cracked frame deal, I haven't heard anything about the sliders contributing to it. If the impact is hard enough to crack or bend the frame, I would total the bike and take the money. For what it's worth, sliders should be the first mod made to any bike. Well, maybe removing the reflectors since it's free. It's cheap insurance. Specially for those who have or know someone who has dropped their bike on the parking lot.
