Red face Sync'd Carbs

Hellow everyone this is the guy who is having "Excessive fuel consumption." I posted this becasue i have a next question and didn't want somebody who could answer it overlook it in my older thread becasue of the title that I have on it.
Ok, I haven't pulled of the tank an actually checked out the fuel system for leaks(thats this weekend), but i did read in the book for the bike that if the carbs aren't in sync this can cause excessive fuel consumption. If this is the case do u know of an easier way to do this. The book may have seem to suggest inadvertly that a real mechanic should do this because you can really jack up the bike. Besides i don't have the proper tools to measure and fix it according to the book.
By the way the creators of this site did a great thing. I be sitting at work just checking out different thread and i must say overall its very informative. Oh yeah if anybody has any other suggestions as to why my bike is only getting about 30-50 miles per tank(yes per tank) hit me up on either of the threads that i posted.
