I fitted the autocom under the strap that Hitman mentioned. I ran the wire for the GPS up under the tank and up to the mounting on the bars. Handsfree for the phone is through the GPS, but as a backup, I mounted the dongle on velcro in the very left hand wall of the glove box. Out of the way, and no heat issues.
If you use music or phone through the GPS to the Autocom, the sound quality is far better if you connect with wire rather than Bluetooth. I have tried both.
