the tire is broken in once you've worn off the film on the outside. If you go to any track, the organization will say that you have to have at least 80% tread or new tires. weaving doesn't necessarily break in the sides, but more so a faster way to get rid of the film. If you do weave, make sure that it's gradual. Remember, the tires needs to warm up first. check you tire pressure too. 34-37 psi cold is good for most street riding.
As for bringing your bike to a dealer, you had a simple low side right? Do a visual check and check for any loose parts. chances are you didn't do any heavy damage unless your bike hit something. Does it ride ok? run fine? Any noises? I work at a dealer in CA and we charge $94 an hour. we charge that just to look at the bike even if it takes 20 minutes.
