I Know this is a little ghetto, but you gotta do, what you gotta do...
I attached an L key hex screw driver with tie pulls and wrapped a bunch of tape around it. It's actually pretty sturdy. I planned on buying the shift lever, but decided just go ahead with the sato rearsets. Probably gonna pick em' up next week. I'll put this home made shift lever to the test tomorrow on the ride to work...

I think it's pretty minimal damage compared to other bikes I've seen laid down at 3 mph.
