I ride at a similiar altitude and I have not had any problems with the standard IJ mod of about 2.5 turns out and the needles shimmed 1.0 mm and I have used this on the BRP up the high point at about 5600 as I recall. On another note, winter has begun it's retreat in earnest in the northeast and it sure is good to twist a throttle and I am a hard core skier... 50+ days this year... Have a great trip CT and I personally would not worry to much about the carb settings for the short duration of this ride. Tune for the home field and you should be fine.
Good luck Amigo
