I recently completed a 7,000k trip over 3 weeks doing some of the best roads in OZ and the GTR performed brilliantly two up and pretty well fully loaded. When I got home I cleaned it and put it in the shed for 3 weeks and went to start it and no compression except for one cylinder. It wouldn't start obviously. So a call to the dealer saw it picked up and it took them 2 days to get it to run. They said when it did start on the one cylinder the engine rattled very badly so they shut it down. Which leads me to think there is an oil pressure problem as well. After 4 days I picked it up. Thing is the dealer wouldn't treat it as a warranty claim until there was some pretty assertive talk from me to them. These guys will try anything!!! In the end I spoke to the mechanic and he seemed to think it could be a pending problem and he had not come across this with the GTR or the ZX14. He said the valves had all stuck open. He had experienced this once before in another bike though and that was from washing the bike and not letting the engine run to dry it out. Didn't think much of that explanation. Anyway it is running great now but it is a real worry. I'll be starting it weekly as I don't use it all that much and I have lost my licence anyway. Anybody else heard of this????
